Data science and analytics capabilities have made a leap forward in recent years, which is driven by sophisticated statistics and machine learning algorithms, strong computational power and storage capabilities, and innovative data collection platform and devices. Data and analytics are fuelling business disruptions and industry transformation. Recent advances in Statistics and Machine learnings can be used to solve a tremendous variety of business problems, generate productivity gains and improved quality of life.
In this talk, we will review the trend of data analytics applications in industries, disruptive business models by data analytics, and the challenges data scientists are facing in real development. In addition, we will share several interesting analytics projects and how data scientists create significant business values.

赵静园博士简介：

赵静园博士现就职于新加坡职总集团，担任高级副总裁，数据科学中心主任。研究领域包括数字产品化，大数据研发和应用，以及公司数字化转型。赵静园博士带领50多人的团队为集团下属的十间公司研发和构建数据科学算法，数据产品和商业战略。团队致力于用数据驱动商业进步，用数据推动集团数字化转型和改革，用大数据促进集团创新。

赵静园博士于2008年毕业于新加坡国立大学统计专业。毕业后的十一年中就职于多行业的数据科学领域，包括新加坡科研局，咨询公司，电信公司和电商平台。在加入新加坡职总集团之前，她担任Lazada（阿里集团，东南亚电商平台）副总裁一职，带领数据科学团队研发和落地数十个大型项目和数据产品，包括平台推荐引擎，搜索优化和品牌增长战略。
