The National Center for Applied Mathematics of Shaanxi (hereafter: “the center”) was approved by Ministry of Science and Technology to be one of the first support construction National Centers of Applied Mathematics. The center relies on Xi’an Jiaotong University, and jointly is built by universities and key enterprises in Shaanxi. The center focuses on strengthening cooperation and deep integration between scientists and entrepreneurs. In the early stage, the center focuses on several important fields of national economic development, including mathematical basis and algorithms of big data, the theory of machine learning automation, the co-development of artificial intelligence and mathematics, the mathematical theory and method of unconventional oil exploration and meantime, mathematical technology in future communication. The center dedicates itself to the key mathematical theories and technologies of applied mathematics in the fields, so as to provide original and innovative mathematical methods and technologies for key fundamental problems encountered in the fields and make contributions to solve critical mathematical bottlenecks in the social and economic development of the country and Shaanxi Province.
